Overview
Installed ahead of the intake manifold (at the throttle or in the charge pipe) and triggered by a set boost threshold. The system injects methanol, ethanol or a mix with pure water, fully atomising the charge and lowering intake-air temperature — typically by around 20 degrees. The extra oxygen in the charge improves combustion efficiency, deals with knock and lifts power noticeably; it also reduces the heat-soak power loss that turbo cars suffer when driven hard.
